Defence War College Academic Agreement
Further to the AusTender notification dated 26 February. The update is regarding Defence’s approach to establishing a long term relationship with an Australian University to provide academic and related services to the Australian War College within the Australian Defence College.
The plan remains to issue an open Request for Tender (RFT) in mid-July 2020 with an anticipated open period of three months. The RFT will be released and managed via AusTender, the Australian Government’s procurement system and will be supported by an industry briefing shortly after the release of the RFT. Dependent upon social distancing and travel requirements at the time, the industry briefing may be conducted on-site at the Australian Defence College at Weston (ACT), remotely using online arrangements including a virtual tour of the campus or a combination of both. We expect to be able to confirm the location and means for conduct of the industry briefing by early June 2020. The brief will be an opportunity to engage with key members of the Australian War College. It will provide important context regarding the current activities of Australian Defence College and the Commonwealth’s intention for future academic arrangements at the Weston campus.

a) at the time of submitting its tender, the tenderer must have and maintain status as a Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) self-accrediting higher education provider - i.e is defined as an Australian or Overseas University in accordance with the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2015; and
b) no later than Effective Date of the Contract, the tenderer must have and maintain Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) Entry Level membership.
