Species Expert Assessment Plans (SEAPs) Project
As part of the Australian Government’s bushfire response the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment is seeking to engage Service Providers to deliver a number of Species Expert Assessment Plans (SEAPs) for species and ecological communities.
This includes; the assessment of identified groups of species and / or ecological communities for threatened listing status against Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) criteria and IUCN guidelines where relevant, and development of listing assessments and conservation advices.
The groups include:
•Freshwater fish
•Freshwater turtles
•Plants
•Lizards and snakes
•Terrestrial mammals
•Frogs
•Rainforests and wet forests of south-east Australia
This project will accelerate listing assessments and improve the currency of EPBC Act lists. Service Providers are to deliver listing assessments and conservation advices that meet EPBC Act requirements for review by the Threatened Species Scientific Committee and advice to the Minister for the Environment
