Engagement of Career Facilitators to deliver Industry Training Hub Services in Townsville (QLD) & Burnie (TAS)
The Industry Training Hubs (Training Hubs) were announced as part of the $585 million Skills Package ‘Delivering Skills for Today and Tomorrow’. The Government will invest $50.6 million over four years to pilot ten Training Hubs in selected regions with high youth unemployment across Australia. Training Hubs will be located in:
• New South Wales (Grafton, Gosford)
• Victoria (Shepparton)
• Queensland (Maryborough, Townsville)
• Western Australia (Wanneroo, Armadale)
• South Australia (Port Pirie)
• Tasmania (Burnie)
• Northern Territory (Alice Springs)
The First Two Training Hubs will be established from January 2020, with the remaining eight from January 2021.
A Facilitator will be engaged to deliver Training Hub services in each location. The Facilitator is the key component of the Training Hubs measure. The Facilitator will be a full-time on-the-ground presence in each of the selected locations. The Facilitator’s role is to work in the region to create better linkages between local industry, employers and schools and support industry pathways in areas of local skills shortages that complement the completion of secondary education.
The Department of Employment, Skills, Small and Family Business is seeking a Career Facilitator to deliver Training Hubs services in each of Townsville (Queensland) and Burnie (Tasmania) from January 2020.
