You are invited to provide a response to this Invitation to Participate (ITP), indicating your willingness to be a participant in the Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC) Generic Soldier Architecture (GSA) Engineering Working Group (EWG).  Participation in the LNIC GSA EWG will involve reviewing the Australian GSA Standard documentation and participating in collaborative online discussions to comment on the GSA’s current status, approach and technical direction.  In particular, LNIC is seeking input from individuals and organisations who have expertise in software engineering, computer engineering, mechatronic engineering, dismounted soldier systems and emerging technologies.

Background:

Army Headquarters, through the Land Network Integration Centre (LNIC) seeks to enhance soldier operational effectiveness via integrated, adaptable and affordable electronic soldier system infrastructure requirements.

Development of DEF(AUST) Generic Soldier Architecture has commenced and will define power, data and related physical/ human factors architecture interface standards for the soldier platform. At its completion DEF(AUST) Generic Soldier Architecture will be implemented as the interface standard for soldier systems, sub-systems and hosted software procured and sustained for army.

DEF(AUST) Generic Soldier Architecture will facilitate a data rich digital soldier platform environment, with open/ generic standards creating integration agility, interoperable soldier systems and sub-systems able to rapidly capitalize on frequent technology developments to enhance close combatant capability.

LNIC is seeking expressions of interest from qualified parties with an interest in participating in an Engineering Working Group which will contribute to defining Data Interface Standards.

:

Persons wishing to participate in the GSA EWG should provide a response to this ITP as per the instructions contained within this ATM documentation, before the closing time/ date.
