Tenderers are invited from suitably experienced entities to undertake the role of Contractor for major Airfield Works at RAAF Base Darwin.

Tenderers will be required to provide Buildability Input in the Design Phase and subject to Construction Phase Agreement and receipt of Regulatory Approval, construction of the proposed Works.

Works for the Project include provision of aircraft pavement, AGL and stormwater drainage improvement works including:

RAAF Base Darwin ($150M-$200M)

1.          Stage 1 – Expedited Runway 11-29 Works

a)       Runway 11-29 – concrete replacement of threshold area, asphalt resurfacing (structural pavement to 45m width plus shoulders), asphalt resurfacing of Runway End Safety Area, Reconstruction of existing flexible Ordnance Readiness Platform (ORP) East (south) as rigid pavement, new, relocated and modified AGL, including AGL pit and duct and new swale and culvert system and decommissioning of parts of the pit and pipe network.

b)       Drainage – new open drain (running in an easterly direction parallel to Runway 11-29 between the runway and Taxiway A) up to the Eastern ORP Access Road, new culvert crossings for the transverse crossings of Taxiways B1, E1 and D as well as all pavement, AGL, and line marking works for Taxiways B1, E1 and D as necessary.

2.          Stage 2 – All Other Works

a)       Runway 18-36 – asphalt resurfacing (structural pavement and shoulders), Decommission existing AGL and Lift and reinstate Land and Hold Short Operations (LAHSO) lighting.

b)       Taxiway A1 – replacement of rigid pavement, asphalt reconstruction of flexible shoulders and relocate/lift and reinstate AGL impacted by pavement works.

c)       Taxiway A2 – intermediate hold position lighting to be replaced.

d)       Taxiway A6 – replacement of rigid pavement, reconstruction of asphalt shoulders and relocate/lift and reinstate AGL impacted by pavement works.

e)       Taxiway C1 – new flexible shoulders.

f)        Taxiway C2 – asphalt resurfacing of structural and shoulder pavements and relocate/lift and reinstate AGL impacted by pavement works.

g)       Taxiway C3 – asphalt resurfacing or reconstruction of shoulder.

h)       Taxiway G – asphalt resurfacing of structural pavement and construction of new shoulder pavements.

i)        Taxiway H – asphalt resurfacing of shoulder and structural pavements and lift and reinstate taxiway AGL.

j)        Taxiway J – asphalt resurfacing of structural pavement and construction of new shoulder pavements.

k)       Taxiway N/O/P/Q/R/S and T – asphalt resurfacing and replace AGL, pit and duct and MAGS.

l)        Taxiway W2 – asphalt resurfacing and new AGL including new pit and duct.

m)     Taxiway X2 – asphalt resurfacing and new AGL including new pit and duct.

n)       Central Heavy Duty Apron – replacement of rigid pavement and surface drainage.

o)       Southern Light Duty Apron – reconstruction of flexible pavement as rigid pavement.

p)       C17 – asphalt resurfacing of shoulder pavements.

q)       QRAF – asphalt resurfacing of structural and shoulder pavements.

r)        OLAs – asphalt resurfacing of structural and shoulder pavements.

s)       Bomber Replenishment Apron – replacement of rigid pavement, reconstruction of flexible shoulders, replacement of apron edge lighting, and surface drainage works.

t)        Fighter Replenishment Apron – replacement of rigid pavement, reconstruction of flexible shoulders, replacement of apron edge lighting, and surface drainage works.

u)       Drainage – new open drain (running in an easterly direction parallel to Runway 11-29 between the runway and Taxiway A) between the Eastern ORP Access Road and Taxiway A6, upsize existing culvert crossings at the crossing of the Eastern ORP Access Road, Taxiway A6 and the two access roads east of the Runway 29 Threshold.
