Prototype National Intelligence Community Smart Satellite System (NICSAT)

Tenders are invited from suitably experienced entities to provide space based research and engineering services in order to develop, build, test, launch and operate a prototype or proof-of-concept “smart” satellite to demonstrate the application of miniaturised satellite systems with on-board machine learning applications.
The scope of works performed under this contract aims to combine a systematic approach to research and development with commercial off the shelf solutions. Tenderers are to propose a delivery approach to achieve the outcomes.
Joint Tender arrangements are permitted, noting paragraph 8.2 within the RFT document. The successful Service Provider will work closely with ONI and the National Intelligence Community to promote objective collaboration. There is no requirement for the Service Provider to hold an Australian Government Security Clearance.
Virtual Industry Briefing
A virtual industry briefing is planned to be conducted on 14- May-2020 Further information regarding the industry briefing is provided in the Tender Documents.

The contract is anticipated to commence in early-July 2020 for an initial period of two years to 30 June 2022, with the option to extend the contract term by period(s) of up to an additional 12 months to 30 June 2023.
