Provision of uniforms, accoutrement and personal protective equipment supply and management services for the Department.
The Department of Home Affairs (DoHA) will be approaching the market by issuing a Request for Tender (RFT) for the supply and management of uniform, accoutrement and personal protective equipment (PPE) to the Australian Border Force (ABF) and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) (the Services). The Services include design (if applicable), sourcing/manufacture, supply, warehousing, fitting, tailoring, distribution and inventory management to DoHA Portfolio state offices and locations as specified.
DoHA is seeking to engage a single supplier to meet this requirement under a managed service arrangement.
While there are currently limited common uniform, accoutrement and PPE items between the ABF and AFP, the Services potentially established under this approach to the market are to provide the mechanism for increased standardisation between the agencies. It is also expected that other Portfolio agencies, in addition to the ABF and AFP, may request to utilise the Services during the contract term.
The contract term is expected to be five (5) years with the option to exercise two one year extensions at the Commonwealth’s discretion. The likely commencement date for the provision of the Services is 1 July 2020.
Please note AFP has recently conducted a procurement activity for the establishment of a panel arrangement for the provision of law enforcement equipment and related services (AFP RFT 4-2019). The items in scope for this AFP panel are out of scope for this procurement activity.
The RFT is expected to be published on AusTender in January 2020.
