Description:

Expressions of Interest for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of ANSTO's replacement FRPS Digital Safety System.

ANSTO is planning for the upgrade of the OPAL Reactor FRPS (First Reactor Protection System) Digital Safety System.

The currently installed system utilises Triconex (Nuclear Certified) hardware version v9.5, which has become obsolete.

The FRPS is implemented using digital computer technology qualified for use in safety shutdown applications. The system is based on the Tricon Safety PLC provided by Schneider-Triconex. This system shuts down the reactor and performs other safety system logic.
