Notification to industry for RFT JLC21-005 (Class 8 Contract)
The Medical and Dental Logistic Support Services Contract (MDLSSC or the “Class 8 Contract”) refers to the delivery of medical and dental logistic support services to the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
The services provided include management of contracts for the provision of Schedule 8 pharmaceuticals, scheduled and reactive maintenance of equipment (for products ranging from heart monitors to patient stretchers), warehouse services or equipment, consumables and pharmaceuticals, and the preparation and distribution of medical kits (provided for ADF personnel for long-term overseas postings, First Aid Kits and General Kits). The Commonwealth manages the Class 8 Contract at both national and regional level from JLU-E Moorebank (NSW) but will deliver it in all States and Territories.
In July 2021, the Commonwealth released a Request for Information (RFI 20526) in the form of a questionnaire to assess industry’s capacity and interest to undertake Class 8 activities under potentially reduced term and scope arrangements once the current contract concludes in June 2022. The responses from industry have indicated that there is sufficient capacity and interest within the market to deliver the requirements and that an open tender approach to market is likely to result in a value for money procurement outcome.
Accordingly, this notice advises that the Commonwealth plans to release an open tender Approach to Market (ATM) via AusTender in the second quarter of FY 2021/2022.
An Industry Brief will be conducted virtually shortly after the release of the open tender. The details in relation to the conduct of the industry brief will be included within the open tender RFT.
