As part of Australian Border Force (ABF) community protection role, ABF must ensure that goods that are seized, abandoned or detained cannot enter the wider community. This includes goods/firearms that are held in storage at external premises. Goods held are either dangerous to the community or have involved revenue evasion and are of interest to criminal organisations. Security and access requirements therefore need to be key considerations. The reputation of ABF could be damaged if the community loses confidence about the security of seized, abandoned or detained goods/firearms.
