National Measurement Institute (NMI) requires an experienced database manager to work with its scientific teams and general managers on the maintenance of its existing databases and the development of new systems. There are a number of databases involved that are employed across a range of business units which require upgrading on an ongoing basis to meet the ever changing needs from new technical requirements, new client requirements or new needs with respect to high level reporting of data. The databases are largely FilemakerPro based and allow the automation of many processes within NMI’s laboratories. They additionally provide automated quotation systems, record detailed sales data and allow business analysis of NMI’s dealings with its clients allowing trend analysis of different sectors, products etc. The work involved will require the services of a contractor for a maximum of up to 1100 hours per annum to undertake the work described in Schedule 1.

Accordingly, the Department invites suitably qualified consultants/contractors to submit a tender for Database development and management.
