The Australian Antarctic Division (AAD), based in Hobart, Tasmania, is part of the Australian Government's Department of the Environment and Energy and is responsible for Australia’s presence and activities in the Australian Antarctic Territory and the Southern Ocean. The Division leads Australia’s Antarctic Program (AAP).

The AAD through its Modernisation Branch, has established a Project to realise the million-year old ice core scientific research. The research requires the acquisition of the main components of the ice coring process, namely, the ice coring drill, the cable that suspends the drill into the glacial borehole, the winch that pays out and winds in the cable and the drill tower that supports the cable and drill sonde.

The Department wishes to engage a suitable Supplier to deliver the drill tower (Tower).

More detail can be found in the Statement of Requirement.

:

The supply must be provided in accordance with the Statement of Requirement (SoR) in the ATM and subject to the terms and conditions set out in, or referred to, in ATM 19/2852 Drill Tower.  Neither the lowest nor any ATM Response may necessarily be accepted.  The AAD reserves the right to abandon or terminate any aspect of the ATM at any stage if it is not in the public interest to proceed.  Late submissions will not be accepted and submissions forwarded by facsimile or email will not be accepted.  Potential Suppliers should note that the Draft Services Agreement is indicative of standard terms and conditions that will form the basis of a formal agreement only and any contractual arrangement with a preferred Supplier will be subject to change.  The AAD reserves the right to consider alternative terms and conditions of contract.
