Notification of Industry Briefing - Lethality System (LAND 159)
This notification is to advise industry of the intent to conduct a virtual Industry Briefing via Microsoft Teams (due to the impact of COVID-19 restrictions) on 30 July 2020. The Briefing will be hosted jointly by the Commonwealth and the selected Prime Contractor.
The Briefing will provide an update on the Lethality System (LAND 159) project. Following the completion of the Request for Tender (CASG/LSD/RFT/7951/1), NIOA has been appointed the Prime Contractor for Stage 1 of Tranche 1 of the project.
The Prime Contractor, NIOA, will now commence the activities to support the delivery of services and products in two stages: Stage 1 being those activities and deliverables required to support a 2nd Pass submission to Government; and Stage 2 being the follow on acquisition and support of Tranche 1 capabilities which include the Sniper System and the Close Combat System.
The first part of the market solicitation will be the release of an Expression of Interest for Tranche 1 capabilities by NIOA.
The LAND 159 Expression of Interest (EOI) will open at 12pm (noon) AEST on 27 July 2020.
The EOI will be conducted via a dedicated AWARD® Lethality Portal for ease of response and evaluation. AWARD® is a proven market solicitation management tool from Commerce Decisions. Each respondent to the LAND 159 Tranche 1 EOI will access the portal via an individual and secure AWARD Lethality Portal profile.
To obtain their profile, suppliers must first register their details. Email NIOA at L159Award@nioa.com.au and provide your details, including your company name, the name for of a primary person as well as possible secondary users, email addresses, and contact phone numbers. This is a dedicated email address for the purposes of generating AWARD supplier profiles.
The website address for the AWARD portal will be supplied with your supplier profile.
Please note that the EOI is an independent activity to the Industry Brief, and suppliers will need to submit a separate registration to have a supplier profile created in AWARD to participate.

The Industry Briefing will commence at 10:00 am and conclude by 12:00 noon.
Participants are to register using the email address provided in this notice by 4:00 pm on 24 July 2020. The following registration details are required: name; company represented; email address used to access Microsoft Teams; and mobile number. Upon receipt, Commonwealth will forward Teams log in details. Failure to register will preclude participation in the Industry Briefing.
Registered participants will receive an invitation to join the virtual Industry Briefing sent to the email address(es) previously provided. Invitees should select 'Join' to enter the event.
