CG2B Neutron Guide Extension – Spatz Instrument

Scope
Contractor Responsibilities
1. Guide system CG2B extension manufactured, installed and correctly aligned meeting or
exceeding the minimal performance criteria described in Table 3 [Mandatory].
2. Periodic enhanced shielding within vacuum housing, e.g. shielding alongside guides, which
helps to block line of sight and reduce gamma shine [Mandatory].
3. Vacuum jackets for the guides throughout [Mandatory].
4. Mounting pillars for all new guides [Mandatory].
5. Description of the test criteria that will be used by the contractor to establish the quality of
the supermirrors [Mandatory].
6. Description and supply of all calculations of any analysis used to predict guide performance
[Mandatory].
7. A spare guide section for each guide cross section [Desirable]
8. Sufficiently detailed design drawings to enable correct interfacing of subsequent
instrumentation with the guide system [Mandatory].
9. 3D models of the same designs to enable correct interfacing of subsequent instrumentation
with the guide system. Must meet criteria outlined in AI-2997 and as per BRAGG-NBI2-
QAD-0005-00 [Mandatory].
10. Technology transfer to ANSTO during the project, to give ANSTO technical knowledge
required for disassembly and re-alignment of key components [Mandatory].
11. Complete documentation allowing construction by a third party in the future [Mandatory].
12. The tender response will specify the method(s) used to align the guide accurately
[Mandatory].
