Best Practice International Student Engagement
Canberra
This project will identify, encourage and showcase best practice international student engagement at education providers across Australia, and seek to improve the experience of all international students studying onshore within Australia.
This project will examine what best practice international student engagement looks like in four keys areas:
• On campus between domestic and international students
• Off campus with the broader local community
• Work Integrated Learning and graduate outcomes
• Mental health
In November 2021, the Hon Alan Tudge MP, Minister for Education and Youth launched the new Australian Strategy for International Education 2021-2030 (the Strategy). The Strategy emphasises the role of providers and communities in building student engagement for international students. Student engagement is a key feature which can support a positive student experience and ensure student wellbeing. Both domestic and international students benefit from strong engagement with their peers on campus and with friends, community and services off campus.
