Description:

This is an invitation to potential tenderers who hold water rights in Queensland and New South Wales to submit tender responses in relation to the purchase of these water rights to a total of 44.3 GL/y of water by the Australian Government to help deliver Murray Darling Basin Plan (Basin Plan) outcomes.

The Australian Government (represented by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (the Department)) is seeking to purchase water rights up to 41.1 GL/y of surface water and 3.2GL/y of groundwater of wateracross six catchments and targeting eight Sustainable Diversion Limits (SDL) units. The six catchments are:

a. Condamine Balonne

b. NSW Border Rivers

c. Namoi

d. Lachlan

e. NSW Murray

f. Barwon-Darling

The Tender constitutes an offer to sell Water Right(s) (Offer) on the terms and conditions set out in the Draft Sale Agreement.

The tender will open on 23 March 2023 and close on 19 May 2023.
