The system will provide an improved level of waterside security in the immediate surrounds of a berthed or anchored warship. This will include both surveillance (detection, tracking and classification) and response (audible and optical warning and non-lethal deterrence).

An industry briefing will be conducted at Defence Science and Technology Organisation Sydney (NICTA Building), 13 Garden Street, Eveleigh NSW commencing at 10:00 am local time in NSW on 20 January 2011.

The Commonwealth will exclude a Response from further consideration if the Commonwealth considers that the Respondent does not comply with:
a. the Commonwealth's security requirements set out in clause 2.6 and 2.7 of the Conditions of Registration; or
b. the requirements (if any) identified as essential in the Statement of Requirement.

Estimated timeline for project activities:
Procurement of hardware, including equipment demonstrations - early-mid 2011;
Software development, testing - mid-late 2011; and
Shipboard trials and handover to Royal Australian Navy - late 2011 - early 2012
