Digital Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR)
Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart
The Bioanalysis Group of the National Measurement Institute uses Digital Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) to support production and characterisation of Nucleic Acid Reference Materials used in medical, food and environmental testing, as well as contract testing for food and feed for commercial clients.
At this time, all of the Digital PCR measurements performed in the Bioanalysis Group are reliant on a single supplier Digital PCR platform, which only supports proprietary reagents supplied by the instrument manufacturer.
The key requirements for this equipment are that it needs to offer suitable sample throughput, is cost-effective, and has the capacity for the partition volume to be measured, which is an integral part of ensuring that Digital PCR measurements of nucleic acids are traceable to the International System of Units (SI).
The purpose of the intended procurement is to increase the capacity and throughput for Digital PCR measurements within the Bioanalysis Group and to allow for improved investigation of measurement biases between technologies to ensure the highest quality measurements for Reference Material production are maintained.
No additional conditions other than those listed in the Approach to Market document.
The Contract will remain in force for a period of 2 years from the date the Contract is entered into.
