PNG Women Lead
Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart
PNG Women Lead will be the bilateral successor program to Pacific Women Shaping Pacific Development (Pacific Women) in Papua New Guinea. The program budget will be $55 million over 5 years (2022-2027), approximately $11 million per year, with the option to extend for up to an additional 5 years following a design refresh and approval by the appropriate delegate.
PNG Women Lead will be separate but complementary to the new regional program, Pacific Women Lead.
Aligning with Pacific Women Lead, the PNG program’s goal will be “PNG women and girls, in all their diversity, are safe and equitably share in resources, opportunities and decision-making, with men and boys”.
Under Pacific Women, we progressed outcomes across four pillars:
• Women’s Leadership and Influence - Increase women’s leadership and influence in decision making, including at local government level.
• Women’s Economic Empowerment – Increase economic opportunities for women.
• Violence Prevention and Response - Strengthen the national response to violence against women and provide expanded support services.
• Enhanced Knowledge and Understanding - Enhance knowledge and evidence to inform policy and practice
The proposed procurement approach will release a Request for Expression of Interest (REOI - Step-1) to shortlist suitably qualified implementing partners that will be invited to take part in targeted consultations during the development of the investment requirements. Following consultations, the shortlisted organisations will be invited to participate in the subsequent Request for Tender (RFT - Step 2). A failure to respond to the REOI will result in a potential supplier not being eligible to participate in any subsequent consultations or RFT process.
Refer to REOI document.
