DVA Rehabilitation Program – Voluntary Information Request
The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) intends to release a Request for Tender (RFT) in July 2022 for the provision of rehabilitation services through DVA’s Rehabilitation Program and Veterans’ Vocational Rehabilitation Scheme (VVRS) from 1 July 2023.
DVA will be inviting submissions from interested and suitable tenderers to deliver whole-of-person rehabilitation supports and services to eligible Australian veterans who reside throughout Australia and overseas. The Rehabilitation Program must be delivered in line with DVA’s legislation: the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 (VEA), the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation (Defence-related Claims) Act 1988 (DRCA), and the Military Rehabilitation Compensation Act 2004 (MRCA).
The aim of the Rehabilitation Program is to assist eligible veterans to restore, or achieve the highest possible level of, function (physically, psychologically, socially, vocationally and/or economically) to maximise quality of life and wellbeing; and minimise any long term health care and/or community support needs that may have arisen as a result of their service.
The aim of the VVRS is to help eligible veterans find or retain employment, while offering medical management and psychosocial services to address barriers, where required.
The delivery of treatment is not covered under the Rehabilitation Program or VVRS.
It will be an essential requirement for successful tenderer(s) to be Comcare accredited by
14 October 2022. Organisations wishing to participate in this tender process, but do not yet have Comcare accreditation, must indicate on their submissions that the process to acquire accreditation has commenced and is underway.
