Upcoming RFI Personal Electronic Countermeasures
Personal Force Protection Electronic Countermeasures (Personal FPECM) is a capability to protect individuals from Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIEDs). Personal FPECM is part of the Land 154 Joint Counter IED Program Phase 4. The Capability Manager (Army) is seeking Personal FPECM for use by ADF personnel in operational areas where RCIEDs are a threat. Users for Personal FPECM may include personnel in Army, Special Forces, RAAF and Navy.
The purpose of this Notice is to inform industry that an RFI for Personal FPECM is expected to be released to industry in early 2020 and RFI documentation is expected to include user requirements and a draft timeline for acquisition.
The RFI is intended to provide the project with information about the:
• maturity of the Personal FPECM market, and
• functionality and form factor (size, weight, power) of developmental and off-the-shelf systems/products.
The project intends for RFI responses to be from the original equipment manufacturers or authorised resellers.
Please note Close Date and Time stated is not the date and time of the RFI. This is a notice to inform industry of the impending release of the RFI.
The RFI content about Personal FPECM is expected to be classified. Therefore, respondents will be expected to receive, store and use such material in line with Australian Defence security requirements, depending on the actual classification of the RFI documentation.
