ASEAN-Australia Defence Postgraduate Scholarship Program (AADPSP) 2024-2028
The AADPSP sponsors up to twelve (12) Defence officials per year – up to eleven from participating Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries and one from Australia - to complete an Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 9 Qualification in Australia. The AADPSP does not currently extend to Myanmar.
ASEAN is an inter-governmental arrangement bringing together the ten Southeast Asian member states (likely to increase to eleven, with Timor-Leste expected to become a member state during the contract period). Australia’s security interests remain inextricably linked with the countries of ASEAN. Australia is working with ASEAN partners to promote our shared interests in an open, inclusive, and resilient region with ASEAN at its centre. ASEAN and ASEANled architecture are essential to building alignment around shared objectives and have played a key role in establishing norms of behaviour and cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, including mutual respect, inclusivity, and the peaceful settlement of disputes. Australia is committed to sustainable, long-term engagement across the region by offering targeted opportunities for deeper ties with current and emerging leaders in ASEAN countries.
