Description:

AIMS is proposing to undertake a capital improvement project to the National Sea Simulator (SeaSim) located at Cape Cleveland to upgrade the PCS7 controls systems software/hardware from V8.0 to V9.1 – (Latest revision) and install all systems in a virtual environment (the Requirement).

The primary site system currently operates on two sets of dual redundant S7-500 processors, Engineering, Maintenance, Historian, WinCC SCADA OSS & Web servers, panel mount and desktop clients and 35 * S7-1200 & 1500 PLC’s (These are integrated into the system, but are not being upgraded in this project).

The Facility is a 24/7 operation and supplies critical environment life support services for ongoing research projects. There is no scope for site/plant shutdowns in excess of 15 minutes. Tenderers will be expected at the second phase of the tender process to document risk management plans to eliminate the risk of a shutdown in excess of this period.

Suitably qualified Applicants will be invited to tender for the Control Systems Upgrade at AIMS facility at Cape Cleveland. The successful tenderer will be engaged via a contract directly with AIMS.
