The Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority (APVMA), within the Agriculture portfolio, is the agency responsible for the assessment and registration of agricultural and veterinary chemical products prior to sale and their regulation up to and including the point of retail sale.
The Mission of the APVMA is to protect the health and safety of people and animals, the environment and trade, and support Australian agriculture, through science-based, effective and efficient regulation of pesticides and veterinary medicines.
