About CSIRO

CSIRO carries out scientific research in areas including energy, information technology, health, minerals, agriculture, the environment and natural resources.
Objective of the Procurement Function
The objective of CSIRO's procurement activities is to support the organisation's core business. CSIRO Procurement aims to achieve value for money in accordance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) by ensuring appropriate procurement methods are used to procure goods and services. An emphasis is placed on streamlining and using cost effective processes such as CSIRO-wide procurement agreements.
