The scope of this activity is to provide two main functions relating to the Laboratory (LAB) application and software. One of the functions is the development of new applications to solve unique LAB requirements and the other is the maintenance and support of existing applications developed for and within LAB. The software applications are required across a number of fields within the LAB assurance environment. The applications are primarily used to manage assurance activities, and to report the outcome of those assurance activities. The software applications address gaps in the existing logistic management systems. It is anticipated that the majority of these software gaps will be addressed through the upcoming whole of Defence application enterprise level logistic management system (SAP/ERP).
