At the time this REOI is issued, the search is ongoing for the Boeing 777 aircraft operated as Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370) which is believed to have gone missing in the southern Indian Ocean on or around 8 March 2014.  The search has so far not detected or identified any debris or pieces related to MH370.  If and when MH370 is found, the Malaysian Government, in conjunction with the governments of Australia and the People's Republic of China, will conisder issues relating to recovery operations.  Should recovery operations be undertaken, the Australian Government, as represented by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB), will lead any required recovery operations.

The ATSB invites interested parties to submit expressions of interest for the potential provision of the services as outlined in the REOI document. 

This REOI is the first stage of a possible two stage procurement process for the potential services. The objective of this REOI is to create a shortlist of potential suppliers of the services in order to enable a timely response for a recovery operation, if required.

The ATSB does not guarantee or give any assurance in respect of any potential next stage of the procurement process.

As outlined in Section 2 of the Request for Expressions of Interest documentation, the response must:

a) be in English

b) be lodged in Microsoft Word 2003 (or above), Microsoft Excel 2003 (or above) or PDF format 7.0 (or above)
