Joint Logistics Command (JLC) intends to hold an Industry Brief in Melbourne to provide information to prospective tenderers on a proposed Request for Tender (RFT) for the provision of Global Freight Forwarding and Customs Clearance Services to the Australian Department of Defence. 


The Commonwealth presently intends to seek the services of a prime Contractor to provide and manage the required services.


Details of the proposed Industry Brief are as follows:

It is not mandated that prospective tenderers attend the Industry Brief in order to submit tenders in response to the RFT. 


The Commonwealth intends to release the RFT on AusTender ( in the 2nd quarter of this year and any further updates regarding the schedule will be made available through AusTender.


The Industry Brief will address the following:

·                Background to the proposed new Conditions of Contract including any mandatory requirements.

·                Overview of the scope of the draft Conditions of Contract, including the services being sought and delivery locations.

·                Outline of RFT Timetable.

·                Points of contact.


The Industry Brief should run for approximately 1.5 hours with the opportunity for questions and answers at the conclusion of the presentation. 

Other Instructions:

Without limiting the terms of the RFT, a further Industry Brief may be conducted after release of the RFT and further details will be provided on AusTender once the schedule is confirmed.

Conditions for Participation:

All prospective tenderers wishing to attend the Industry Brief are required to register their intention to attend via email to, including the following details:

·                Company Name.

·                Full name of each attendee.

·                Position/Title of each attendee.

·                Contact phone number and e-mail addresses for each attendee.

Attendees will be required to produce photographic identification in order to enter Victoria Barracks.
