Construction of Farm Buildings at CSIRO Boorowa
The Commonwealth Science and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) has purchased a 290ha farmland site in Boorowa NSW for its field research.
The site will be established to enable the facility to be a digital farm utilising all the latest digital equipment and is envisaged to be a showcase farm. It will include facilities for field days and will be used as a hub for agricultural research and seed processing for south-eastern NSW, and in some cases as a node for relevant national or international research projects.
There is currently no infrastructure on site, therefore CSIRO needs to develop the site to suit the needs of the research to be undertaken. This involves construction of six farm buildings to support field research and for storage of machinery.
