Australia Minerals (and its predecessor) has been attending the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada International Convention, Trade Show and Investors Exchange (hereafter “PDAC”) for over 20 years. The convention is held annually in Toronto, Canada at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Australia Minerals is the name given to a group made up of eight representatives from each of Australia’s Federal, state and Northern Territory government geological organisations. The Federal agency, Geoscience Australia, manages Australia Minerals on behalf of the other participants. Australia Minerals takes up eight booth spaces (‘government booths’; total space 20’ x 40’). These eight booth spaces are part of a group of 16 booths that together are known as the ‘Australian Pavilion’ .

The remaining eight booth spaces (industry booths) are managed by GeoJAG Australia.

The Australia Pavilion has previously been single-level. Australia Minerals, working with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade, another Australian government agency) and GeoJAG Australia, would like to host a pavilion with a mezzanine level. The mezzanine level will be centred on the pavilion space, partly covering government booths and partly covering industry booths (Fig. 1).

This tender is for the design, construction and servicing of a free-standing Australia Minerals booth, including a Mezzanine level. The first use of the booth will be at PDAC 2018 (4–7 March 2018). It is expected that the same booth design will be used for up to three years, at the 2018, 2019 and 2020 conventions. PDAC typically hosts about 24,000 participants with over 930 exhibitors.

The successful Supplier will need to work with GeoJAG Australia, the co-ordinator of the eight industry booths, to provide a suitable design, construction and servicing contract for the industry booths and the design of a Mezzanine level above these booths.

The contract for the eight industry booths is not included in this Approach to Market.
