Geoscience Australia (GA) and its partner, the Western Australia Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS), are considering a collaborative program of airborne gravity surveys over a Project Area in the Pilbara region in the northwest of Western Australia (Figure 1). The objective of the surveys is the collection of gravity data at 5 km or shorter wavelength resolution to help characterise regional geological elements of the regions.

In this ATM the Customer seeks tenders from Suppliers to conduct the necessary airborne gravity survey operations in the Project Area subject to the availability of funds.

In delivering the Services, the Supplier(s) will provide all equipment and personnel necessary to conduct the geophysical survey(s) to the standards and criteria specified in GA2018/2320 — Appendix A: Requirement Details.

The Customer does not intend that the services and specifications described in these documents be prescriptive of the surveying methods that the Supplier(s) may use. Rather, they establish a level of expectation for the geophysical survey(s) to provide high quality data to contribute towards achieving the desired science outcomes. Where appropriate, the Supplier may wish to propose alternate instrumentation or methodology for meeting the project objectives.

No survey contract will be awarded before an airborne geophysical risk assessment for the Project Area is submitted to and found acceptable by the Customer. Risk assessments must follow at least the aspects described in Appendix V of the International Airborne Geophysics Safety Association (IAGSA) Safety Policy Manual

In every case, it is expected that the selected Supplier will work closely and proactively with the Customer and GSWA to ensure that the best possible data are obtained for the survey.
