A long term strategy is needed for the Yarramundi Peninsula to address the spatial and infrastructure provisions and planning challenges for the Precinct. Interventions need to be coordinated in a way that will inform the long term development and management of the Precinct.
To achieve this, the objecives of the Structure Plan are to:
- identify the principles towards a precinct vision
- develop a structure for site activation and engagement, including increased opportunities for ceremonial and cultural events, as well as tourism
- improve pedestrian, cyclist and transport movement and accessibility which facilitates connections both within and external to the site, and
- strengthen the natural and cultural heritage of the precinct.

The preferred consultants will be a multi-disciplinary team with strong design leadership and must include suitably qualified consultants from the following core disciplines:
- Urban Design/ Planning/ Landscape Architecture
- Civil and Transport Engineering

Stage 1: Stakeholder consultation and background analysis
- End February 2017- Site inception; Commence desktop review; arrange meetings with internal and external site stakeholders to gather information
- End March 2017- Draft summary paper submitted for comment
- Mid April 2017- Background document finalized
Stage 2: Draft Concept and Vision
- End April 2017- Draft concept ideas and vision developed for NCA feedback
- Mid May 2017- Stakeholder workshop to present site analysis, concept ideas and vision
- End May 2017- Final Concept and Vision accepted
Stage 3: Structure Plan
- End June 2017- Principles and priorities developed, background documents finalized. Presentation of principles and priorities to stakeholders.
- Early July 2017- Draft Structure Plan out for Community & Stakeholder Engagement
- Mid August 2017 - Summarise engagement outcomes and finalise Structure Plan for NCA feedback
- September 2017- Present Structure Plan at Authority Meeting (TBC)
