Procurement of Travel Management Services for the Australian Government
Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart
Finance is responsible for the Australian Government’s travel management services arrangement.
This arrangement provides Government departments and agencies with travel booking and consulting services for domestic and international air travel, and related travel requirements.
The objectives of the travel management services arrangement include:
- continuing to maximise value for money for the Commonwealth;
- creating a sustainable business model for the travel industry;
- increasing the use of technology to streamline the interaction between Government agencies, travel services providers and users of Government travel related services; and
- contributing to transparency of travel expenditure through the provision of accurate and timely travel data.
In preparing for an approach to market to in mid 2014, Finance consulted widely with the travel industry and government department and agencies to develop the draft Statement of Requirement (SOR).http://www.finance.gov.au/2013/12/19/Finance-releases-travel-management-services-consultation-paper-for-comment/
Finance intends to approach the market shortly to establish a new arrangement and is providing an opportunity for industry comment on the final draft of the SOR.
