Fast Cryostats, SANS and Spectroscopy Magnet, 10 mK Fridge Procurement.
Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Darwin, Hobart
ANSTO’s - Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering (ACNS) is seeking the procurement for the design and construction of the following specialised equipment to be installed with existing and future neutron beam instruments at the Lucas Heights campus:
-
Separable Portion 1: Vertical Asymmetric Magnetic Field Superconductive Magnet with a minimum central magnetic field of 7 Tesla with a variable temperature insert (VTI) and all ancillaries and related equipment as defined in the Specification document “Design Specifications for a SANS and TOF Neutron Spectroscopy Vertical Asymmetric Magnet” document number 16/033-01
-
Separable Portion 2: Two fast Cryostats of new design for the temperature range 1.4 K to 800 K, with all necessary ancillary equipment, thermometry and electronic equipment as defined in the specification document: “Design Specifications for a New Fast Closed Cycle Cryostat” document number 16/033-03
-
Separable Potion 3: Closed cycle dilution cryostat enabling temperatures down to 20 mK and with cooling power of 400 µW at 100 mK and all relative ancillary equipment, thermometry and electronics as defined in the specification document: “Design Specifications for a High Power Closed Cycle Dilution Fridge” document number 16/033-02.
The objective will be to procure the equipment from an international or national established vendor through a tender process with the aim to firstly sign off the design of the bespoke equipment as per required specifications and then authorise the construction phase. The design is a hold point for the project.
