Structured Cabling Infrastructure Support Services
Canberra
The Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) operates an extensive data communications network which is distributed throughout the ACT. The Data Cabling infrastructure in support of this data communications network is referred to herein as the ASD Data Network - Structure Cabling Infrastructure (ADNSCI).
The ADNSCI exists at multiple security levels and is interconnected between Telecommunications Equipment Rooms (TER), Data Centres (DC) and host devices predominantly by fibre optical cabling with isolated pockets of copper interspersed at some locations. The networks at each security level are treated as separate infrastructures and are separated in accordance with Defence standards laid out in the Information Security Manual (ISM). An ongoing requirement exists to maintain, modernize and expand the ADNSCI in support of current and future mission objectives.
As the ADNSCI is located within a classified environment, the contracted entity will at all times, for the duration of the contract, be required to provide resources cleared to a level of TOP SECRET Positive Vet (TSPV). The costs associated with the establishment and ongoing re-certification of a resources clearance will be subject to reimbursement by ASD as per a Deed of reimbursement.
