The National Measurement Institute (NMI) site at North Ryde comprises chemistry laboratories across the Analytical Services Branch (ASB) and the Chemical & Biological Metrology Branch (ChemBio). NMI seeks the supply of laboratory gases and associated services.  Additionally NMI requires a supply of bulk liquid nitrogen and liquid argon  to meet the laboratories current and likely future needs.

The materials and equipment to be procured are liquid nitrogen and liquid argon with the successful tenderer required to provide adequate cryogenic vessels for holding these materials. The successful Tenderer will also be required to ensure that the cryogenic vessels containing liquid nitrogen and liquid argon always contain an adequate amount of  these materials so as to not interrupt supply of gaseous nitrogen and gaseous argon  within the North Ryde site laboratories. Provision of other Laboratory gas cylinders including helium, hydrogen, air, oxygen and carbon dioxide also form part of this procurement.

The successful Tenderer must obtain all necessary development approvals from local government and ensure they comply with all local government requirements. This applies to the placement and size of the cryogenic containers.  The successful Tenderer must also liaise with the Department’s Facilities Team to ensure appropriate interaction regarding   building owner approvals.

The Department’s requirements are set out in more detail in the request for tender.
