Employment Facilitator services for the North and North West Tasmania Region
Show close time for other time zones
In response to significant challenges in the North and North West Tasmania labour market the Department requires an Employment Facilitator to provide a local, full-time, individual person point of contact service. In collaboration with employment service providers, the facilitator will work directly with workers at risk of retrenchment to connect them with training, job opportunities and to link them with other existing support. The facilitator will also be connecting unemployed job seekers with employers and employment service providers. The facilitator will liaise strongly with employers to gain insights into the local labour market and facilitate relationships between employers and employment service providers. The facilitator will require strong relationships with state, local and federal levels of government as well as other complementary services such as Registered Training Organisations.
The role is expected to commence on 15 January 2018 (however, a final start date will be negotiated) and go through to 30 June 2020. The Employment Facilitator role is the Australian Government’s way to provide retrenched workers and other jobseekers with a range of assistance and access to employment services.
The region will require an Employment Facilitator to be based in the North or North West Tasmania region to provide a local point of contact. The Employment Facilitator role is not expected to deliver the same or similar services as jobactive, but to work in conjunction with employment service providers in the region and other relevant parties, including employers, to connect retrenched workers and other jobseekers with job outcomes.
The Employment Facilitator will play a key role in the implementation of the Stronger Transitions package of support (See Attachment A for details on the Stronger Transition package). This package will support retrenched workers in the North and North West Tasmania region with a range of services to assist them to move into new employment and prepare for the jobs of the future.
