The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) through this RFT is seeking responses from suitably qualified and experienced service providers for the provision of an X-ray fluorescence drill core scanning system (XRF– Drill Core Scanning System) and a Hyperspectral Drill Core Imaging System (HDCIS) at CSIRO's Australian Resource Research Centre (ARRC) Laboratories in Perth, Western Australia.

Through this RFT, Tenderers will have the option to Tender for the XRF – Drill Core Scanning System or the HDCIS, and or submit a Tender for both Systems.

Subject to clause 5.8

Unintentional Errors of Form,CSIRO will exclude a Tenderer from further consideration and evaluation if CSIRO considers in its absolute discretion that the conditions for participation set out in this clause have not been met by the Tenderer.

Notwithstanding anything else contained in this Tender, only requirements listed in this clause will be deemed conditions for participation.

Mandatory Requirements, Subject to Clause 1.4 of Attachment A.

The X-ray fluorescence drill core scanning system must meet the following safety and compliance specifications:

  • All components for the XRF - Drill Core System must comply with relevant Australian legislation and standards for electrical and radiation safety including, but not limited to Australian Electrical Standards and Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Regulations 1999.

Please note: Further information regarding relevant safety requirements can be found in NHMRC RHS No.24 document “Code of practice for the design and safe operation of non-medical irradiation facilities (1988)”. A copy of this document is available on the ARPANSA website at https://www.arpansa.gov.au/sites/g/files/net3086/f/legacy/pubs/rhs/rhs9.pdf

  • Incorporate a complete radiation shielding and failsafe interlocked enclosure (no need for provision of further radiation shielding).
  • Inclusion of a hardware emergency-off switch.

The Hyperspectral Drill Core Imaging System must meet the following safety and compliance specifications:

  •  All components for the System must comply with relevant Australian legislation and standards for electrical.
  •  Inclusion of a hardware emergency-off switch.
