Data Centre as a Service - Industry Consultation

The Australian Government Information Office (AGIMO) is inviting organisations to present to senior IT Australian Government representatives regarding the Data Centre as a Service (DCaaS) project.
45 minutes will be allocated for each session, of which at least 35 minutes is to be allocated to answer mandatory questions and 10 minutes is for organisations to provide relevant information about their service offerings. There will be a maximum of three presenters from each company. Some of the questions are mandatory and some are optional.
• Mandatory for all:
o What DCaaS solutions would you offer? What are their benefits and risks to government and industry?
o What would be the minimum contract term?
o On what basis would you charge for the services?
o What issues are there in transitioning in and out?
o How will support issues be managed to resolution?
o How will the solutions interface with agency ICT change management processes?
o Would your services change depending on the data classification? If so, how?
o What lessons, risks, issues can you share from similar projects?
• Mandatory for cloud services:
o How would you provision for an agency that only requires a solution for 120 days?

Industry Consultation registration will be completed by emailing datacentres@finance.gov.au.
You must register your organisations interest by providing:
• Organisation details:
o A description of your company's core business activities and service offerings (limited to 200 words);
o Name;
o Website; and
o Switchboard.
• Details of representatives who will present:
o Names;
o Job title/position;
o Direct landline; and
o Mobile number.
Registration will close at 2pm on 22 November 2011.
The Industry Consultation will be conducted at AGIMO's office in Fyshwick, ACT. The first group of presentations will start on 30 November and the last group will conclude by 16 December. Organisations will be given one week's notice of their presentation date and time.
Organisations must provide five hard copies of their presentation slides on the day of the presentation; and following the presentation email the slideshow to DataCentres@finance.gov.au .
The Industry Consultation is for information purposes only and should not be relied on as an indication of information that may be contained in a future Request for Tender.
Only those vendors who offer services that are relevant to the DCaaS project will present.
• Products and Services deemed not relevant include:
o Data Centre facilities providers
o Data Centre designers, developers and/or financiers
o Consulting services
No late registrations will be accepted.
