The Commonwealth is seeking to form a panel of members capable of supplying their own vessel/s and/or source vessel/s of varying sizes and capabilities in order to facilitate movements of cargo, and possibly passengers, by sea, as well as performing various sea-borne tasks.
Contractors engaged under the Panel would normally move small volumes of ADF and other Commonwealth stores and equipment by sea as well as performing a number of various maritime tasks in Australian waters. This expected work is likely to be predominantly along the east coast of Australia, and to a lesser extent between Australia and Papua New Guinea and in Western Australia.
Strategic requirements to support annual or biennial military exercises such as Talisman Sabre may necessitate an increase in the amount of cargo to be transported in a single movement.

Clause 2.4 of the Draft Deed - Defence Security Requirements
Expected commencement date of the Panel is 27 August 2018
