Description:

DFAT has a requirement for the acquisition of Network Timing Protocol (NTP) appliances and peripherals.

Accurate and reliable time is critical to operate the network in a reliable and secure manner. Network Time Protocol (NTP) appliances fulfil this role by acting as the master source for time for all other infrastructure and applications in the DFAT environment.

DFAT require a solution should meet the following requirements

Provide an accurate time source consistently across different systems with a logging and monitoring facility to assist with the correlation of events
Reduce the impact caused by a failure of the NTP appliance, to acceptable levels by the business
Ensure that sufficient redundancy within the solution is in place, to ensure safe failover across locations to increase resilience and survivability
