The ANMM has identified the necessity for the replacement of the current Sea Water Heat rejection equipment, with the proposed installation of Cooling Towers in a dedicated cooling tower plantroom.  These systems are used to cool the HVAC equipment and systems.  The mechanical and building works and associated equipment (excluding the Cooling Towers and Acoustic Louvres) are the subject of this current procurement.

The Cooling Tower plantroom is to be located in the current Facilities and Support Services, Sustainability (FASSS) Workshop at the northern end of the ANMM building.  To enable this, the maintenance staff and their equipment are to be re-located to the proposed FASSS Maintenance Store in Wharf 7 building.

As part of this contract, the current FASSS Workshop building will be altered to accept mechanical equipment and systems. The new Cooling Tower plantroom will house the Cooling Towers and all associated equipment. Under this contract, the FASSS Workshop building will be altered by enlarging the space, cutting in acoustic louvres, structurally maintaining the terrace slab for penetration allowing for the cooling towers to be “dropped-in”, constructing an integral structural support, cooling tower maintenance walkway access and cooling tower base, construction of an enclosed trench for condenser water pipework to plantroom #1 and other associated works.
