Field Training Medical Support Standing Offer
Defence wish to establish a Field Training Medical Support Standing Offer panel to provide ad-hoc medical support to Army field training activities across Australia.
Each medical support task will vary, but key components of all medical support is the provision of a registered and appropriately qualified medical practitioner (Doctor, Nurse, Intensive Care Paramedic), suitable and relevant emergency vehicle/s (off road capable ambulance) and an emergency vehicle driver. Medical support will be required 24 hours per day, for the duration of any specified Army field training exercise.
The tender will remain open for a period of five (5) weeks.
1. The Contractor must hold the licences required to deliver S4 and S8 medications in all Australian States and Territories.
2. Medical support to field training activities - The standard hours of duty are 0700h-1700h with on-call duty hours between 1700h-0700h, although these hours may be varied dependant on activity. Contractor clinical personnel are required to respond immediately in the event of an emergency at all times.
3. Doctors are to have Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery degree (MBBS) or Doctor of Medicine degree (MD), or equivalent.
4. Doctors are to have current Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration.
5. Intensive Care Paramedics are to have a Bachelor Degree in Paramedic or Health Science (or equivalent).
6. Intensive Care Paramedics are to have Current Advanced Life Support Qualification.
7. Registered Nurses are to have Bachelor Degree in Nursing, or equivalent.
8. Registered Nurses are to have current Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration.
9. Emergency evacuation vehicle (such as an ambulance) that is:
a. Capable of safely transporting one lying casualty in a fitted stretcher in accordance with state road regulations and Australian Design Regulations;
b. securely equipped with oxygen delivery;
c. securely equipped with patient vital signs monitor;
d. securely equipped with a defibrillator; and
e. securely equipped with spinal board.
10. Contractor supplied satellite phone available at all times whilst field training exercises are being performed.
