The Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development requires:
- an annual review of insurance policies held by the lessees of leased federal airport sites owned by the Commonwealth;
- advice on the compliance of those insurance policies with the lessees’ obligations under the Airport Sale and Lease Agreements;
- advice on current financial ratings of insurers underwriting cover for leased federal airports; and
- from time to time advice on wider aviation insurance issues and developments/trends both internationally and domestically and insurance related matters affecting the Commonwealth’s interests as owner of the airport sites.
