Request for Information - Firefighting Foam Product Information
The Department of Defence (Defence) is required to store and use firefighting foams for a range of firefighting purposes to support its mission to defend Australia and its national interests. Defence uses a range of foam products including Class B (flammable liquids) products as well as foams with less stringent performance requirements for training, bushfire fighting, and general firefighting purposes of Class A (combustible solids) fires.
Defence is currently undertaking a review of firefighting foam products available on the market that meet its firefighting capability requirements as well as environmental requirements. This Request for Information primarily seeks to obtain information about the environmental performance of currently available foam products.
