EOI - Design, Supply, Installation Supervision and Performance Demonstration of the Storage Ring
Melbourne
The Australian Synchrotron storage ring comprises of 14 repeating sectors. A sector consists of a straight section followed by an arc section. An arc section is made up of three girder assemblies including magnets, two dipole magnets and vacuum vessels.
The Synchrotron Facility is designed to operate continuously 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. For maintenance planning, assume user operations of two 11.5 hour shifts per day in four 10-week operating runs per year, one eight hour day shutdown per week, three 2-week shutdowns per year and one extended 6-week shutdown per year (≥ 5,000 User Beam Hours per year). The target reliability for the entire Synchrotron Facility is a mean time between failure (MTBF) ≥ 50 hours, and a mean time to repair (MTTR) ≤ 1.5 hours.
ANSTO will use this Expression of Interest (EOI) to down select capable supplier’s using the returnable schedules in “Attachment C” and the evaluation criteria in “PSC000766 – Expression of Interest” Clause 8.7. The shortlisted suppliers will then be invited to a Request for Tender (RFT) where ANSTO will then select the preferred supplier to deliver “Front Ends”
