Description:

AGD through OLSC has established a legal services multi-use list (LSMUL) which must be used by most Commonwealth departments, agencies and bodies subject to the Financial Management and Accountability Act 1997 or Commonwealth Authorities and Companies Act 1997 (Agencies) to purchase legal services.

Broadly, the legal services required by the Agencies fall in the following categories of legal work:

  • government and administrative law;
  • corporate and commercial law;
  • dispute resolution and litigation; and
  • all other legal services.

Service Providers seeking to be appointed to the LSMUL may nominate to supply any or all of the above categories of legal work.

The LSMUL includes Service Providers who have been pre-qualified to undertake legal work for the Commonwealth by applying for and satisfying the conditions for participation (see below), to provide legal services to Agencies in nominated categories of legal work.

Service Providers should note that appointment to the LSMUL does not guarantee that any legal services or any volume of legal services will be ordered by Agencies.

The LSMUL commenced operation on 1 June 2012.

A list of Services Providers included on the LSMUL is available on the Attorney-General's Department's website at www.ag.gov.au/LSMUL.
