Evaluation of effectiveness of current management of the Great Barrier Reef Region
This Approach to Market (ATM) is for the provision of: Consultancy services to critically evaluate the effectiveness of current management of the Great Barrier Reef Region to inform a Chapter in the 2019 Outlook Report.
This will involve review of documentation, coordination and facilitation of workshops, provision of reports and review of the ‘Existing protection and management chapter’ of the 2019 Outlook Report.
The Commonwealth as represented by Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority (the Customer) is seeking submissions for the provision of the consultancy services (the Requirement) as described in this Commonwealth Approach to Market.
Mandatory Conditions for Participation
The Customer will exclude from consideration any Response that does not meet the following Mandatory Conditions for Participation:
Potential Suppliers must be able to travel to Townsville and Brisbane to physically facilitate workshops as specified in the Requirement
Potential Suppliers must:

Have documented experience in protected area management or the evaluation of protected area systems;

Have demonstrable knowledge of Great Barrier Reef management and protection;

Have demonstrated ability to effectively engage and collaborate with government officials, programs and processes; and
Have a knowledge of and must follow the IUCN-World Commission on Protected Areas Framework for Management Effectiveness to deliver the Requirement, and must use the criteria and methods described in the ‘Existing protection and management chapter’ of previous Outlook Reports (2009 and 2014).
