Strategic Procurement Outlook
The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) is Australia’s national statistical agency, through the delivery of high quality official statistics and value-added statistical solutions, we aim to inform decisions on important issues.
The ABS aims to ensure Australia is well served by a responsive, innovative and dynamic statistical system which continues to meet changing information requirements in a cost effective manner. This is achieved by partnering with others across the national statistical system, which embraces statistics and data held by Commonwealth and state and territory agencies, as well as collaborating with non-government organisations, to maximise the value of public and private sector data and enhance insights for informed decision making.
Further information about the ABS can be found at www.abs.gov.au
ABS adheres to the principles of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules, through the Accountable Authority Instructions and supporting department guidelines, when considering and undertaking procurement.
The Procurement Plan
The aim of the Procurement Plan (PP) is to draw early attention to potential procurement opportunities, and will be updated to maintain currency as the year progresses. Information is provided for planning purposes only, and is subject to revision and/or cancellation.
ABS uses established arrangements (both exclusive and non-exclusive as well as panel arrangements) for a wide range of goods and/or services. Procurements through these arrangements are not included in the PP. Request documentation for all open approaches to the market will be advertised on AusTender.
