Commonwealth Environmental Water Office – Long Term Intervention Monitoring Project
Through this Request for Tender, the Commonwealth Environmental Water Office (CEWO) intends to engage suitably qualified providers to develop and implement 5-year Monitoring and Evaluation Plans that examine the ecological response to Commonwealth environmental water delivery at each of the following selected areas within the Murray-Darling Basin:
- Junction of the Warrego and Darling rivers
- Gwydir river system
- Lachlan river system
- Murrumbidgee river system
- Edward-Wakool river system
- Goulburn River
- Lower Murray River
Tenderers are requested to provide a Tender response that:
- Provides a costed proposal that outlines how the tenderer will develop a Monitoring and Evaluation Plan for a selected area
- Demonstrates experience and capacity to undertake intervention monitoring at a selected area for a period of up to 5 years
In summary, the CEWO Long Term Intervention Monitoring Project will:
- Monitor the ecological response of commonwealth environmental water delivery at 7 selected areas within the Murray-Darling Basin
- Evaluate ecological response results against expected ecological outcomes in each area
- Inform the adaptive management of Commonwealth environmental water use
- Evaluate the contribution of Commonwealth environmental water to the objectives of the Murray-Darling Basin Plan
- Infer ecological outcomes in areas of the Murray-Darling Basin not monitored
